Source of Funding and Fee Details for Authors

1. Funding Sources

The Al Meezan operates under a transparent and sustainable publishing framework supported through multiple funding channels:

  • Article Processing Charges (APCs): Fees from accepted manuscripts are used to support editorial operations, peer review administration, digital preservation, website hosting, and publication services.

  • Institutional Assistance: Financial and administrative support is provided by partner universities and research institutions affiliated with the editorial board.

  • Donations and Sponsorships: Limited contributions from academic organizations and supporters dedicated to advancing open-access research.

  • Optional Print Sales: Income generated from the sale of printed journal copies contributes to operational sustainability.

To preserve editorial integrity, the journal does not receive funding from commercial advertising or entities that may compromise academic independence.

2. Author Fee Policy

BHSR maintains a fair and clearly defined fee structure for contributors:

Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • Standard Publication Fee: PKR 15,000 / USD 60 (for accepted manuscripts)

This fee covers manuscript handling, similarity screening, peer review coordination, copyediting, DOI allocation, and digital publication.

Submission Charges

  • No payment is required at the time of manuscript submission.

Printed Issues (Optional)

  • Price per Copy: PKR 2,000 / USD 10
    Printed versions are available upon request.

Expedited Review Service (Optional)

  • Priority Review Fee: PKR 10,000 / USD 40
    Provides initial editorial evaluation within 7–10 working days.

Note: Priority processing does not guarantee acceptance.

3. Fee Waivers and Concessions

To promote inclusivity and academic participation:

  • A 50% discount on APCs is available for students upon submission of valid enrollment documents.

  • Partial or full fee waivers may be granted to authors from financially disadvantaged regions or those lacking institutional support, subject to approval.

  • Special fee reductions may be offered for invited articles, outstanding submissions, or conference-related publications.

4. Payment Options

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Bank transfers

  • Easypaisa / JazzCash (for domestic authors)

  • PayPal (for international contributors)

An official payment invoice will be issued after final acceptance of the manuscript.
